Hello everyone,
My name is Lakyn Miller, I am 29 years old and have been diagnosed with unexplained female infertility. My husband, Andrew, and I have been married for nearly three years and two of those have been full of fertility treatments and heartbreak as we work to expand our family. My fertility issues came to light after a miscarriage in November of 2019. We pursued medical expertise and after a year and a half of TTC (trying to conceive) after our loss, we decided to pursue fertility treatments. At this point, I have gone through 3 medicated cycles and 5 unsuccessful rounds of IUI (Intra-uterine Insemination). In November of this year, I had surgery to remove a large cyst that was blocking my cervix and my gynecologist also cleaned up my uterine lining during this procedure. After this, I went through many tests to ensure that my fallopian tubes were open and that I was producing eggs, which they are and I am. We believe the issue is with ovulation and/or my ovaries not releasing the eggs that I am releasing. IVF would allow us to bypass all the issues causing the inability to conceive. Andrew and I have wanted a family since we started dating back in 2018 and we are so ready. The monetary strain, however, is what is holding us back from pursuing these life changing treatments.
